Founded in 2002, the Preschool Education Department has been seeking to train kindergarten English teachers. With several years' unremitting efforts, the department has developed two specialties, namely, Preschool Education and Preschool Education (English), with a total of 578 full-time students whose study can last from two to five years.

　　Preschool Education (English) began to recruit students in the autumn of 2002. It is the first of its kind in Guangdong Province to train kindergarten English teachers at college level. It focuses on preparing English teachers for kindergartens. The Five-year Program students are from junior middle schools and the Three-year Program students are from vocational higher educational institutes in Guangdong Province .

　　Over the past five years, the Department of Preschool Education directs itself towards employment. The Preschool Department is well acclaimed by the society for its unique training program and qualified graduates.

　　The Preschool Education (English) speciality has enjoyed fruitful achievements in the past five years. It has been awarded “Advanced Program” on the college level and on the provincial scale in 2004 and 2005 respectively. In 2005, it won the first prize for its “ On Pre-school Bilingual Teacher Education and Training Approach ” in the Fifth Award of Higher Education and Teaching Achievement of Guangdong Province.

　　Furthermore, students of this major are well acclaimed in the society with an employment rate of 100% every year.
